That Image.   This time I’m here before her, four minutes before our agreed meeting time of eight o’clock. I haven’t been to this restaurant before, despite its proximity to my flat – it’s small enough not to be commercialised, and large enough – with enough people inside – to be private.  Silently I approve of her choice.  Well, I ought to have known she’d have good taste.     I stand in the cold, shivering a little and trying not to pick at my nail-varnish – a habit of mine, not helped by the fact that I’m really nervous, both dying for and dreadin That Image.

That Life.   I dressed with even more care tonight, so I look good enough to be with her, though of course I’m not.  Her number is still faintly visible on my arm, partly because I’ve tried not to let it wash off.      As I approach the club, I can see her outside; waiting for me.  Kay.  Saskia.  I’m almost sure I’m going to wake up any moment… Do I dare walk up to her, like I belong with her?      I hang back for a moment, watching her.  I’m already shivering – it’s cold out tonight – but she l That Life.

That Smile.   No matter how many times I tell myself not to, I always find myself coming back here.  She comes Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; I gave myself a good deal of heartache sitting around on other nights of the week before I realised that.  Nobody ever seems to notice me, especially not her.  What would she think?      Tonight I’m here before her; I pass the time at the bar, slowly sipping my drink while I become steadily more inebriated by the anticipation.  My eyes are fixed on the stream of people entering the club; it’s early yet, she’ll get here That Smile.

That Walk.   She’s leaning against the wall in the corner, not talking to anyone, not dancing; simply watching the crowd, tapping a thumb against her hip to the beat of the music.      It’s very hard to look nonchalant when you’re trying to carry on a conversation and manage not to spill your drink whilst also watching one of the most beautiful people you’ve ever seen.  But I can cope with the multitasking.  It’s worth it.      She belongs here; it’s her world.  The music and the dark and the lights… the atmosphere… the That Walk.

A Day At The Races

Title comes about because I noticed I have a previous journal titled A Night At The Opera. ^^ A Day At The Races has now joined it as my favourite Queen album. HeheheheheyayQueen.

I'm writing this in between revising osmosis. I've been revising this same chapter for three days. Damn but I'm going to fail my mocks if I don't get a move on. ^^

Anyway. Yes. Mainly to say Happy New Year; am going to one of my friends' tonight; for once I feel like I actually have a life. Though the amount I squee'd at my new highlighters (which are serious pretty) would seem to disprove that fact.

Next year I must actually practise my instruments. There was another thing I was going to resolve but I forgot it, so that's greatly successful.

Anyway. Yes. Happy New Year. Love to you all.
